Prepare for a spiritual breakthrough you can dance to. Bodhi-Bowl’s latest, “Diamond Shield,” is a fearless fusion that channels ancient power through a glittering, modern groove. The track erupts from a foundation of the potent Surangama Heart Mantra—chanted with hypnotic, ritualistic intensity—only to explode into a chorus of pure, diva-belt liberation. This isn’t quiet meditation; it’s a sonic exorcism.
The journey is dramatic. Gritty, soul-baring verses give way to a bridge that reveals the title’s meaning—a “Diamond Shield” of unbreakable wisdom—before catapulting the listener into a final, triumphant chorus backed by full disco artillery: soaring strings, driving horns, and choir-backed declarations of survival. It’s the sound of enlightenment meeting Saturday night fever.
“Diamond Shield” transforms sacred syllables into an anthem of radical self-empowerment. It argues that the deepest wisdom isn’t always whispered; sometimes, it’s declared over a four-on-the-floor beat, a radiant reminder that the light to be free has always lived within.
There are various versions of the Surangama Heart Mantra, and this song utilises one that I am familiar with and have been chanting for a long time. The meaning of this mantra basically means packing up and burning away all negativities with the blessings of Vajrapani. In Buddhism fire or flame is closely associated with wisdom. It gives off light and removes the obscurations to our True Nature. The entire mental energy of packing up the negativities in our mind and oblivating them is one that requires certain determination, commitment, ruthlessness. It is thus a wrafthful mental positioning. However, all these are done without any hatred. Just a sincere effort to see the truth.
Diamond Shield refers to a protective barrier we create in our minds when we chant mantra mentally to remain steadfast in out Buddhist goals.
Lyrics
(Verse 1)
Om!
Anale, Anale!
Visada, Visada!
Bandha, Bandha!
Bandhani, Bandhani!
Vaira—Vajrapani! Phat!
Hum Bhrum Phat—Svaha!
(Chorus)
I’m breaking through my pride — I finally learn!
I’m quenching every thirst, every fire that burns!
I’m calming all the rage, letting old pain cease!
I’m dropping every lie — stepping into peace!
Oh, I’ll survive! I will survive!
With the Dharma in my spirit, I’m alive, alive!
I’ve got the wisdom to be free!
I’ve got the light — it lives in me!
I’ll survive! I will survive!
(Hey! Hey!)
(Verse 2)
Om!
Anale, Anale!
Visada, Visada!
Bandha, Bandha!
Bandhani, Bandhani!
Vaira—Vajrapani! Phat!
Hum Bhrum Phat—Svaha!
(Bridge)
I used to let the shadows lead,
Every voice, every doubt, every need.
But I found a Diamond Shield —
Now the dark knows how I feel.
(Final Chorus)
I’m breaking through my pride — I finally learn!
I’m quenching every thirst, every fire that burns!
I’m calming all the rage, letting old pain cease!
I’m dropping every lie — stepping into peace!
I’ll survive! I will survive!
As long as I stay mindful, I will thrive!
I’ll survive! I will survive!
(Outro)
Om… Anale, Anale… (I will survive…)
Visada, Visada… (I’m staying alive…)
Vajrapani — Phat!
I will survive…[echoes and fade]
