Dharma Pop

Join the Movement: The Birth of Dharma Pop

I am so thrilled to finally announce the launch of “The Quiet Joy Choir” by Bodhi Neon, coming this May 8th, 2026.

This project is deeply meaningful to me. Like most of us, music has been the soundtrack to my life since I was young. It was there when I was cramming for exams, commuting to work, or out for a jog. But for a long time, I felt like something was missing: modern, contemporary pop music with Buddhist themes.

I remember watching Sister Act with wonder in my eyes, silently wishing that one day, someone, somewhere, would produce music that appeals to those of us looking beyond traditional, calm Buddhist chants. I wanted something more “pop.” Something bouncy.

To be clear—I’m not saying traditional music is bad. It’s just that personally, I’ve always hoped for something I could bounce along to on a treadmill or lean into while pushing through a crowded subway. I wanted something uplifting and energizing.

All that wishing is finally being made possible through AI. I feel so lucky to be a witness to this revolution and to use these tools to bring this vision to life.

I’m not sure how many others out there are looking for this specific sound, but my hope is that this music makes a real impact. I want to help bring the message of the Buddha to a wider audience and spread the message of peace just a little bit further.

When I was sending these tracks to the music distributor, they asked for a genre. I realized then that these songs occupy a space all their own. It’s more than pop—it’s a celebration of the inner joy we find in the Dharma. I wanted to call it Dharma Pop, but the category doesn’t even exist yet.

With your support, I hope we can bring Dharma Pop into the world together.

May all be well and happy.
