17 Nov. Leaving Nara and heading towards Arashiyama in Kyoto.
The challenge today is to find a luggage deposit in Arashiyama.
The plan is to find a place where I can store my luggage and then proceed to explore Arashiyama on bicycle. I grabed the nearest locker in the station itself at 600 yen.
Then I found out the bicycle rental company also offer a service for luggage deposit at a lower price.
Cycling at Arashiyama is quite easy except there are many tourist. Troops of tourist, bus load after bus load.
Quite impossible to get a picture without a human head bobbing into your view finder.
The colours are awesome though. But you need to have a gracious mind to share your joy with others.
Since I had been accustomed to low human traffic in eastern Nara, Arashiyama is a shock for me.
For me, the highlight of Arashiyama is the monkey park. You have to climb 20 minutes up a hill and that’s where the wild monkeys will congregate each day to be fed by tourist.
You can only feed them in the safety of a hut where you need to purchase a small bag of Apple or peanut from the vendor at 300 yen.
After that I head back to Osaka because the hotel prices are more reasonable.
Sushi dinner in Osaka is in a conveyor belt restaurant. Each plate at 100 yen is wickedly low price. Quality is good and variety is astounding though. A very enjoyable meal for me.
