It’s been close to 2 years since my last vacation in Bangkok and I had been looking forward to this trip. One of my practices is to set aside a small token sum of money every month for an annual donation to support the monastic community.
I usually donate to Buddhist monasteries but this year, I discovered another meaningful avenue for Dana (donation), and that is the Priest Hospital in Bangkok. This is a government hospital that provides medical care to the monastic order. Furthermore, my mother decided to participate in this meritorious deed and contributed to the fund too.
I tried to find out if I could donate online but could not access their website. https://www.priest-hospital.go.th/
So, I have no choice but to make a trip there physically. To get there, I took the Sky train to Phaya Thai BTS Station. Then use Grab to book a car ride there. You can actually walk there in 15 minutes according to google map. But I was concerned about melting in the heat.
Although Google map estimated the trip to be 2 minutes, waiting for the car to arrive was 20 minutes because of the traffic jam. So that 2 min on Google map became 25 min.

After entering the compound, you should locate the administrative area for donation. It is on the ground level and on the right side of the main entrance. To get a formal receipt for donation, you will have to take a queue number and donate at their counter.

Since, the donation is a personal one, I decided that it wasn’t necessary for me to go through that hassle to record my donation. Instead, I opt to drop my money into the fonation boxes located within this area.

The pictures on each donation box seem pretty clear to me. You can contribute towards food, medicine, etc. I dropped a bit of money in most of them. With my mission accomplished, I felt happy about making an effort to do this donation. You may want to try it too if you happen to visit Bangkok.
May all be well and happy.

I am just an ordinary guy in Singapore with a passion for Buddhism and I hope to share this passion with the community out there, across the world.
