Producer’s Thought

When I sat down to generate Colour Lotus, I wasn’t just trying to make a high-energy dance track. I was trying to build a shelter.

As the producer behind this AI-generated project, I wanted to address something that cuts deep. The feeling of being discriminated against and ostracized—of walking through a hostile world with a borrowed face just to survive—is a uniquely crushing kind of hurt. It leaves you feeling fundamentally unwelcomed, unwanted, and entirely outside the circle of grace. For a lot of folks, traditional religious spaces have historically been ground zero for that exclusion.

That’s why I needed to bring the Amitabha Sutra into a club environment.

Let’s clear up a common misconception: people often hear these traditional teachings and assume they’re locked behind monastic walls. But this specific vision of the Pure Land—where the lotus flowers bloom in every hue imaginable (Shōshiki shōkō, ōshiki ōkō, shakushiki shakkō, byakushiki byakkō)—is something powerful that contemporary teachers like Kodo Nishimura champion so beautifully. It describes a realm of radical diversity where nothing is erased, and everything shines.

I wanted Colour Lotus to translate that radical inclusivity into a language the world understands: a pulsing bassline, a heavy beat, and an undeniable pulse of life.

The core message of this track is simple: Amitabha’s compassion doesn’t discriminate. Not by gender, not by sexuality, not by background. In a world where the mainstream narrative is so often harsh, negative, and suffocating, knowing that a global spiritual tradition with millions of followers fundamentally embraces you can be a vital beacon of acceptance.

Not everyone has easy access to a temple or encounters Buddhism in a way that feels safe. So I wanted this song to reach out across the noise. I want anyone who has ever felt marginalized to listen to this track—to hear the sub-bass rumble, to hear the ancient words chanted over the synth—and realize that the Buddha’s arms are wide open, and their love is always, unconditionally available.

Drop the mask, let the lotus uncurl. You belong here.

I hope you enjoy this new-age track. May you be well and happy.
